I’ve been getting a lot of use out of my Lorac PRO Metal Palette lately. Even though it only contains eight colors, I’m having fun mixing them up and seeing what kinds of looks I can create. My latest creation is this green and gold smokey eye look. I used five of the eight shades: Granite, Clover, Gilded, Onyx, and Quartz. Overall, I’m really pleased with the outcome. It is a fun twist on the traditional smokey eye as it’s not as dramatic, but still accentuates your eyes just as a traditional smokey eye would.
While I would consider this more of a nighttime look, I have worn this out in the middle of the day and haven’t gotten any crazy looks (it may have helped that it was prom weekend, but that’s beside the point :P). One of my favorite things about this look is the lipstick. I used the NYX Matte Lipstick in Spirit. It is a gorgeous nude shade, and it really helps pull the attention straight to your eyes. Since the eyes aren’t overly dramatic, the nude lip sets your lips back and brings your eyes to the forefront.
I’m very impressed with this palette as I’ve mentioned before. It is the first and only Lorac palette I own, and I’m definitely considering picking up another palette from the line. Lorac is a high end brand (and their prices reflect that), but I definitely think it’s worth the splurge if you’re considering adding another high end palette to your collection. The Pro Metal Palette costs about $28 at Ulta. It says it’s limited edition, but I’ve seen it hanging around for awhile.
The next palette I would get from Lorac is either the PRO Palette or the PRO Palette 2. These are their larger palettes, and each palette includes 16 shades: eight shimmer and eight matte. I also have been eyeing the Unzipped palette, which is a mix of golden colors, but I definitely would get one of the larger palettes first. They retail at $44 at Ulta, so again, kind of pricey but I think they would be worth it! The quality of the Lorac PRO Metal Palette is amazing, so I would expect nothing less of the other palettes. I picked up the PRO Metal Palette because of the fun colors and am definitely far from disappointed!
