Summer is rapidly approaching (though with this hot weather it feels like it has already arrived), and that means a new list featuring some summery goals. As always, I continue to work on goals from previous months, but I also like to add new things to work on as I think of them.
For the month of June, I want to:
- Learn how to crochet.
My mom used to teach me how to crochet when I was younger to give me something to do over the summer besides watch TV and play video games. I was never really good at it, but I think that comes down to not practicing enough. Giving up midway through a scarf or hat was pretty normal for me. My older sister is also very crafty and an amazing crocheter, and I love the projects she’s done. It seems like a nice, relaxing, and creatively satisfying hobby. I picked up some hooks and yarn from the craft store, and my husband has already put in requests for beanies (his favorite winter items)!
- Spend some time outside.
I am an indoors kind of gal, especially when the weather is sweltering hot like it is right now. There are small comfortable windows in the mornings and late evenings that I could be enjoying outside, even if it just means watching my dog run around the park. A little Vitamin D never hurt anyone!
- Cook more.
Cooking is not my forte. There are some people out there that love to cook, and unfortunately I am not one of them. However, I know how important it is to cook fresh meals often if you want to be healthy, so planning meals ahead of time needs to become a part of my routine whether I like it or not!
That concludes my list of goals for this month. Luckily, they’re all pretty achievable, it’s just a matter of making the time for them!
